Trying to install stackstorm quick install but it fails with:
Exception: Failed to install requirement “six>=1.9.0,<2.0”: Collecting six<2.0,>=1.9.0
Server RHEL 7.6
Has ansible 2.7 installed
Does anyone have any idea, please. Thanks in advance.

Which log please as I’m a newbie to stackstorm and there are a lot of logs.

I can guess that the installation is failing during the Verify st2 step. You should see this
in install logs (the one you provided is trimmed).
If the answer is yes, it means that StackStorm installation is really finished, it just fails on specific
command which deploys a st2 pack from external StackStorm Exchange https://exchange.stackstorm.org/. You can run that command by hand
st2 --debug pack install st2 and provide full output here.
Besides of that, does your server has outbound internet access? Is there any proxy config involved in your environment?

Are you saying that you have some sort of filtering restricting which sites you can access? That is probably the issue. You need to be able to get python dependencies from pypi.org.
Thanks Lindsay, I have same thoughts. The only thing it’s failing on Exception: Failed to install requirement “six>=1.9.0,<2.0”: Collecting six<2.0,>=1.9.0 yet I see /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/ansible/module_utils/six is on the server. Quick question. Does it matter if ansible was installed prior to installing stackstorm or it doesn’t matter. Plus, I also want to hear from Eugen.

Doesn’t matter that it’s installed there - ST2 creates a separate virtualenv for each pack.
Easiest thing to do would be to check with whoever manages your network filters, and check what’s being dropped.
It doesn’t matter.
Something specific you need to only hear from him? He’s going to tell you the same thing as me - if you have systems in place restricting access to some external sites, then you need to either (A) update your filters to allow downloading dependencies, or (B) Config pip to use an internal pypi cache/mirror.
